Looks strange. Are you sure your data was truncated. Did you use any advanced formating like html (though it is supported in bug description field)? To enumerate steps to reproduce use standard icons. Also to test out your proposition about truncating - paste same text in comment field for that bug and save it.
Also if you attached screenshot, please have file name without space (known bug)
